My Super Colourful Teapot Cosy.
Look what I hooked up!! A Flower Tea Pot Cosy! Which for time and breath I have shortened to Flowerpot!
I just love a cup of tea. The cold, long nights have arrived and I shall need a pot of tea to see me through these winter nights. I think that cosys are pretty awesome, not only do they keep tea warmer for longer, which of course means that I don’t have to keep getting up to boil the kettle – I know lazy me – it is also really super pretty to gaze at. When I am stuck on a pattern, or need a pop of colour I can always steal a glance of my Flowerpot.
My cosy didn’t take me too long to hook up! The flowers I would say took a little longer to hook up than than the cosy itself. I used the pattern for the tea cosy from Cute and Easy Crochet but instead of the flower pattern that they provided I used Lucy’s from Attic24’s Mayrose pattern for the flowers. A pattern which I love because it’s so simple yet every flower looks so delightful. Once I began stitching the flowers onto the cosy I just couldn’t wait to finish it and use it!
It has been a while since I have revealed a FO so I am so mega pleased and proud to finally reveal this to you all. I hope you like my flowerpot.
Now I can sit and crochet the day away with an endless supply of tea (so long as I also have an endless supply of yarn)
Thanks for reading!
My all time favourite dessert. A dessert I believe to be the most mouth watering, delicious and easy to make dessert Ever. Though I have to be careful in how much of it I eat as we worked out that the entire pie is around 5000 calories!! Good job I only make this Pie once in a blue moon eh! On Friday afternoon I noticed we had a few bananas hanging around looking lonely and uneaten in the kitchen and I just couldn’t resist making a Banoffee Pie.
It has four layers, each more yummy than the last.
Bottom Layer – Crushed Biscuits
Bottom Middle Layer- Carmel Toffee Sauce
Middle Layer – Chopped Bananas
Top Layer – Whipped Layer
Then a generous grating of decadent dark chocolate. Oh this Pie is not going to live to see Monday!
Thanks for reading!
PS – It didn’t last! It has been gobbled up.
Fun >> I must say I did enjoy the Breaking Bad series! This chopping board is pretty darn cool.
Etsy >> Just stumbled upon the amazingness of Mimi Kirchner, I love everything she makes… Just look at that beard!
To Watch >> This film won the Palme d’Or and though it looks intense, “Blue is the Warmest Colour” is one to watch.
To Nibble (or devour depending on you willpower) >> I absolutely adore gnocchi but I have yet to make it, I will definitely be attempting this Chorizo Gnocchi recipe .
The weekend is almost here! Wahooo! I am super looking forward to this weekend I have a lot of little but nice things planned. Also I have a FO to reveal in the coming days!
I hope you have had a lovely week and enjoy your weekend!
I took a moment out of my crafting and hooking to take a morning stroll.
To get a breath of fresh air and revive my creative soul.
The colours of the trees so vibrant, so rich
The beauty of a flower caught, in a single glimpse
The fallen leaves crunched beneath my feet.
It was a wandering, walking, crunching, reviving treat.
Now apart from attempts at poetry and wandering I am up to something crafty, something very crafty indeed! I have been a very busy bunny over the last few days, here at MOL HQ (My Other Loves Head Quarters). This busy-ness has included; learning new skills, using all the ones that I have learnt over the years, reorganising and then subsequently disorganising, photographing, hooking, stitching, frogging, sawing, painting, sticking, sewing, cutting and designing. So due to all of the above things that I have listed – my crafty corner is, well I think describing it as “messy” would be nothing if not polite – but that is the life of a crafter – and a burden I must bare!
All shall be revealed in the days ahead.
Thanks for reading guys and gals!
Anything new going on with you?
So I mentioned a while ago that I had moved into a new flat with E. Guess what the flat is filled with….
Blank, white walls. Dull, boring and well a bit sad really. As this is a rented property we are slightly restricted with what we can do with the place. Even so its amazing how far some blu tak, coloured card and imagination can take you. I surfed around the internet for an idea to get started and happened across Katie Sokoler and her blog entitled “Colour Me Katie” – an absolute treasure. Her pictures and her posts inspired me, I realised it wasn’t that hard to brighten things up and add some fun! So last week I had my sisters over for the day to help me attack one of these blank walls.
We were painting and cutting and desinging and blu-taking and drawing and folding – things got very messy!
We cut out lots of these hearts!
Slowly with some blutak it was time to brighten up the living room wall and add a little fun! After a lot of patience, designing and careful placement – we were done.
We added a whole lotta love to the place! Now the living room feels a little brighter and lighter.
The process was cheap, simple and very fun! If you want to create something similar all you need is some scissors, coloured card or paper and if you are lucky one or even two very willing and creative sisters!
Have you got any cheap and fun decorating ideas?
